[pinit]Merry Christmas Favored Friends! 🙂 Thanks for reading this post today.  I gotta tell you, coming up with a name to do this post justice was no easy feat! And, honestly I’m still not sold on it, but wanted to get this information out to you before Christmas!

Before I delve into the nitty gritty, let me preface with where this information came from.  My husband and I watch Eagle Mountain International Church online.  We are in the process of getting ready to move, so are in sort of a transition in regard to churches.  But, I must tell you.. if you don’t have a church, live in the Fort Worth area or just want to watch church online.. this one is definitely worth tuning in to! The church is part of Kenneth Copeland Ministries and the Pastors are his son-in-law and daughter.  And, let me tell you.. they are amazing!! They will take you deep into the word of God and definitely change your perspective on life. 🙂

That being said, last Sunday, Terri Copeland Pearsons, shared with the congregation several prophecies in the Bible telling of Jesus’ coming. When I heard them, although I didn’t understand them all, I was just in awe.  To think that these prophecies began thousands of years before Jesus was ever born is just mind altering!

The verses I am going to share all point to the coming of the Messiah. Some are as clear as day.  And, some involve intense study through multiple Bible translations, to really uncover the message that God has given mankind.

Now, some theologians say there are hundreds of prophecies.. some say there are thousands.  But, there is no denying that they begin in the first book of the Bible, which is Genesis.

So let’s begin!

Genesis 3:15- God speaks of the “seed” of woman. Now, we all know this is biologically impossible…in this passage, speaking in the Garden of Eden.. God is already speaking of the virgin birth.

Genesis 22:18- A promise is given to Abraham that a seed would come and all the nations of the earth would be blessed.  Jesus is the seed that is being referred to here.

Genesis 21-  The promise would come through Abraham’s son Isaac.

Gen 49:10- The scepter shall not depart from Judah until His coming.. it was 600 hundred years before David took the scepter and did not relinguish it until the time of Jesus.

Isaiah 11:1-  Jesus would be a descendent of Judah and of the family of Jesse.

Jeremiah 23:5-6-  The Messiah would be of the household of David.

Micah 5:2.. Jesus would be born in Bethlehem.

Isaiah 7:14.. Jesus would be born of a virgin.

Psalm 72:10.. He would be worshipped and presented gifts by kings.

Psalm 72:9.. He would be worshipped by shepherds.

Jeremiah 31:5.. There would be weeping for children…this happened when Herod began to slay the children two years old and under.

Malachi 3:1-  He would come while the temple in Jerusalem was still standing. (It wasn’t always standing.. it was destroyed 70 years after Jesus was born.)

Psalm 118:26- Tells us He would come during the temple times.

Daniel 9:26- Tells us He would come during the temple times.

Haggai 2:7-9- Tells us He would come during the temple times.

Isaiah 35-  He’ll perform many miracles.

Isaiah 29:18- He’ll open the eyes of the blind and the ears of the deaf.

Psalm 78:2- He’ll speak in parables.

Isaiah 8:14- The Gentiles will believe in Him, while his own people the Jews will reject Him.

Malachi 3:1- A messenger, a man of the wilderness will prepare the way for Him.

Zechariah 9:9-  He’ll enter Jerusalem on a donkey.

Psalm 69:4- He will be hated for no reason.

Psalm 41:9- He will be betrayed by a friend.

Zechariah 11- The price of His betrayal will be 30 pieces of Silver.

Zechariah 11:13- The betrayal will be cast on the floor of the temple. The betrayal money will be used to buy a potter’s field.

Isaiah 53:7- He will not open His mouth to defend Himself.

Isaiah 50:6- He will be beaten and spit upon.

Isaiah 53:12- He will be numbered with the transgressors. (Jesus was crucified with the criminals)

Psalm 22:16- His hands and His feet will be pierced.

Psalm 22- This is a depiction with great detail of the crucifixion of Jesus, both physically and spiritually.. at the time this was written, crucifixion was not a form of capital punishment..until the Roman empire took the right to rule it’s own people away from Israel, capital punishment was by stoning. But, it was the Roman’s who brought it into play. So, the crucifixion being prophesied hundreds of years before it took place was an unusual thing.

Psalm 22-  They would divide His clothing and cast lots for them.

Psalm 34:20- His bones will not be broken.

Psalm 69:21- He will be given gall and vinegar to drink.

Isaiah 53:9-  He will be buried with the rich.

Psalm 16- His body will not decay.

Psalm 110:1.. He will be called Lord.

Psalm 2:7.. He is the son of God.

I Kings 8:56- Not one word has failed of all His good promise.

We can look and see the coming of Jesus, the life of Jesus and the present day ministry of Jesus all came about as a fulfillment of the word of God. The below verses speak of God’s character, letting us know that He cannot lie… therefore, He must stay true to His word.

Numbers 23:19.. God is not a man that He would lie.

Hebrews 6:18- It is impossible for God to lie.

Jeremiah 1:12..God said I am alert and I am active, watching over my word to perform it.

Hebrews 4:12- The word is alive and full of power, making it active, operative, energizing and effective.

In closing, I encourage you to remember that our God has never failed in any of His promises. And, He will continue to be held to His word.  So, if you are facing any worries, fears, financial pressures, etc. turn to God’s word. You will find answers and you will find peace, knowing that not one word has failed of all His good promise.
